The AI agent edits the document

Change one page, one element, or the whole document	Each request runs Claude Code on the owner's own Claude plan against a staging copy of the document; the result lands after the checks pass, inside the selection.	Select one page and ask for a change; the History pane shows a revision that touches only that page.
Marks on the page	A tap, circle or arrow resolves to the elements under it; the AI receives a numbered, marked picture of the page.	Circle a heading and ask to enlarge it; the revision changes that heading only.
Variants side by side	Several versions of a page are rendered as printed pages next to the current one (A).	Ask for three variants; the compare view shows A plus three printed options.
Work stays inside the document	During a turn, Claude's file tools and the presento commands it may run reach only the staging folder.	Ask Claude to read a file outside the document folder; the turn reports the refusal.
Locked pages and elements	A turn that changes, moves or drops a locked element is put back before it lands.	Lock a figure and ask for a full rewrite; the figure is unchanged in the new revision.

Print and checks

Print-perfect PDF	Pages are printed through Google Chrome's print engine at the template's page size.	Export a PDF; its page count and size match the document's pages.
Layout checks on every print	A probe runs in the same page load: overflow, footer collisions, missing images, fonts, contrast, voice and number rules.	Push text past a page edge; the Checks pane names the page and the element.
Live numbers	Page figures and chart arrays bind to a linked CSV or Excel file; Refresh Numbers rewrites every bound figure and redraws the bars.	Change a cell in the linked file and press Refresh Numbers; the bound figure and bar update.
Named exports	Exports are named "Title - Version N (label).pdf" from the document's history.	Name a final and export; the file name carries the version and label.

History and library

Every turn is a revision	Each revision stores thumbnails of the pages it changed; any page can be restored from any revision.	Open History; restore one page from an earlier revision; only that page changes.
Named finals	A revision can be named as a final; the Library sorts and filters by it.	Name a final; the Library shows it under the document.
Import any HTML deck	An HTML file and its images are copied into a new document folder.	Import an HTML deck; it opens as a document with its images in assets/.
Re-flow As	The same content is rebuilt as a memo, one-pager, letter, press release, email or deck from the matching template, in a new document.	Re-flow a deck as a memo; the source document's history is unchanged.

Keyboard, links and automation

Command-line tool	The same binary runs as `presento`: new, import, render, check, snapshot, versions, restore, final, variants, export.	Run `presento render` on a document folder; a PDF and a check report appear.
Agent tools (MCP)	`presento mcp` serves 16 Model Context Protocol tools on stdio: open a turn, read, edit, replace, create or delete a page, search, read and edit shared styles, check, render a page, accept or reject. Every write lands in a staging copy; only accept changes the document.	Run `claude mcp add presento -- presento mcp --project "<folder>"` (or add it to any MCP client), then ask the agent to edit a page.
Scriptable turns	`presento open`, `read-page`, `edit-page`, `create-page`, `delete-page`, `search`, `accept` and `reject` run the same workflow from a terminal or a script; when the text to replace is not in the page, `edit-page` returns the closest lines with their line numbers.	Run `presento open --page 3`, then `presento edit-page 3 --old "..." --new "..."`, then `presento accept`; a new revision appears in History.
Dictation	Apple speech recognition fills the AI request box.	Press the microphone and speak a request.
